Sony Making Its Own ‘Smash Bros’ Game?

Alright this is a rumor that has me pumped. SuperBot Entertainment is supposedly developing a game currently being called “Title Fight” it features Sony’s beloved video game mascots squaring off in a fighting game. First thought I had when this news reared it’s head: “So fighting game as in SSF4 with Playstations mascots as to not rip off Nintendo?” so I looked into it, and apparently it’s supposed to play  very similar to Smash Bros according to Paul Gale Network:

Q1] What buttons represent what actions?
A1] Left Analog = move, X = jump, Square = attack, Triangle = attack, Circle = attack, R2 = super move.

Q2] How do you perform special moves and other such attacks?
A2] The way you pull off moves is similar to Super Smash Bros. Brawl, in that you can press any of the attack buttons and do a basic move, but when pressed simultaneously with up, left/right, or down, you will pull off a more special attack.”

Additionally the camera works like Smash Bros, there’s slow, medium, and heavy moving characters similar to Smash Bros, plus you do have ‘recovery moves’ and have to avoid falling off the ledge…..like Smash Bros.

Keep reading, we’ve got many more details including pictures, and confirmed characters!

First some additional details we haven’t gone over:

  • Game is shooting for about 20 characters
  • Nothing confirmed but currently looks like a Teen rated game (which means I probably shouldn’t be writing about this, but we’ve got some characters later that’ll help justify this post)
  • There is appropriate voice acting in the game (no generic duplicate female/male grunts)
  • Playstation Vita version possible, not currently being developed
  • You have to answer trivia in one stage (Buzz!) if you answer wrong you get KO’d
  • The characters look similar to how they were portrayed in their most recent game (which means very conflicting styles between characters)
  • Currently confirmed Items: RPG(One hit kill), Quick Boots(Faster running), Stage exclusives(Buzz! remote like we mentioned)
  • 4 players fight on one screen
  • Matches are 3 minutes long, probably will be able to change
  • The game has online
  • Playstation Move support possible, not in current build
  • Supporting characters wont be playable like in Smash Bros, instead they’ll make cameos
  • The Ps3 ‘Michael” commercial was foreshadowing this game (no wonder Sony hyped that trailer)
  • Most likely a 2012 release

Currently confirmed characters:

  • Colonel Mael Radec from Killzone
  • Kratos from God Of War
  • Parappa from Parappa the Rapper
  • Nathan Drake from Uncharted
  • Sly Cooper from the Sly Cooper games
  • Sweet Tooth from Twisted Metal
  • Fat Princess from….Fat Princess

Pictures we’ve got so far that we’re not supposed to see:

I love the Smash Bros series, and since skipping out on Nintendo for the past two generations, I’ve always had a bit of a void that’s nearly brought me to buying a Gamecube/Wii just for Smash Bros (the Mario platformers/kart made the purchase a little more feasible in my mind, less so after LittleBigPlanet, and Modnation though) now so far I’ve stayed away from Nintendo’s slutty tempting brawler siren song, partially because I’ve always imagined this rumor would come into fruition so basically I’m balls to the walls excited (not sure if that’s an expression, or me being stupid)

Everyone chime in with who you want in this game, I’ll compile a list, and publish it.
