There was once a time when Metal Gear Rising was hotly anticipated back when it was in the hands of former developer Kojima Productions, at the time only a technically impressive watermelon slicing demo was shown….because that’s all the team had actually developed, suffering from road block when it came to actually implementing this mechanic into the fundamental gameplay of Metal Gear Rising.
Fast forward, Metal Gear Rising Revengeance is being developed by Bayonetta’s creators ‘Platinum Games’ and though Rising has received a lot of flak, and general uneasiness from Metal Gear fans due to the focus on over the top action, it’s great to see the original concept of Metal Gear Rising lives on in Revengeance through “blade mode” seen in the video above.
