The Next Generation of Video Games Used to be More Exciting

“Suck it poor people”

In the past new features for consoles were just obvious: online integration, wireless controllers; these were natural progressions for the video game industry.

But now we’ve hit a point where all of those obvious great upgrades are already taken care of, so there’s little to improve on anymore other than more horsepower, and maybe more social/mobile connectivity features: NFC? Bluetooth sharing? etc, and then with the industry trying to stamp out used game sales, it almost looks like we’re taking steps backward; and things aren’t nearly as exciting as they once were.

This humorous video takes a look back at a simpler time: 1999, where the next generation of consoles was nothing but positively exciting.

Spread the word; help corrupt the masses.
