Half-Life 2 released 8 years ago, sold over 12 million copies, and since then gamers around the world have been hotly anticipating Half-Life 3′s announcement, but it’s never come.
It looks like that could finally change today, as Gamescoms official site listed Half-Life 3 alongside every other (already known, and announced) Gamescom attendee.
Now there’s a couple possible explanations for what’s happening here:
- Mistake/slip/leak: I’m guessing the list gets updated after titles are announced, rather than beforehand
- Gamescom employee is trolling us
- Hacker is trolling us
- Valve requested Half-Life 3 be added to the list to stir up hype in what will become the first step into a viral marketing campaign leading up to Half-Life 3′s eventual announcement
- A wizard did it
