When the Ps Vita or ‘NGP’ (at the time) was announced last year, a montage of games were displayed, among them was a brief fleeting moment of action simply labeled “Killzone” well, now it seems we’ve got an actual nearly tangible title on our hands in “Killzone Mercenary” which Sony announced at Gamescom.
There’s a lot to be excited about here, for one you’re fighting as a mercenary on both sides of the ISA/Helghan war; that’s right, we’re gonna get to shoot the ‘good guys’ in the crotch for cash, speaking of which I like how a dollar amount displays after each kill, really drives home that your buckshot’s in it for the almighty buck. Even on the development side things are looking good: Killzone Mercenary is running on Killzone 3‘s beautiful engine, and Mercenary’s being developed by Sonys talented Cambridge Studio (they created the MediEvil series, and handled the Psps excellent version of LittleBigPlanet) with help from Killzones home developers Guerrilla Games.
Label me excited, Killzone Mercenary is coming out next year for the Playstationi Vita.
