Crysis 2 had a lot more hype made about the 3D implementation than any other game to date. If you recall Crytek CEO & Creative Director Cevat Yerli compared Crysis 2’s 3D to the movie Avatar in 3D. He was quoted as saying:
“James Cameron has seen Crysis 2, and he loved what he saw because his eyes are trained for 3D more than anyone else, and that makes me confident that we have a super-high-end-3D experience on all formats.”
He has also stated that Crytek has created the benchmark for 3D implementation. So has Crytek’s flagship Crysis franchise become the new benchmark for 3D?

I fired up Gears Of War 3, enabled SBS for 3D, and jumped into the campaign eagerly awaiting the visual orgasm I was prepared to receive. Unfortunately, like pre-ejaculation, the event wasn’t up to snuff. For once in my life I fully understood my wife’s frustration with me and felt my man hood dissolve into oblivion. But that’s a story for my sex therapist and not required reading for this review.

The Killzone trilogy, as we know, boast some of the most graphically stunning games on their respective platforms. The developers over at Guerrilla created another stunning masterpiece with Killzone 3, added Move support with the sharpshooter (see Exovedate’s Killzone 3 Sharpshooter Review) and so how does the 3D fair? Now that’s too easy, you’re going to have to read a little bit more to find the answer to that question.

Uncharted 3 is more than likely the most visually stunning game on the Ps3, but with developers hitting their heads on the roof in regards to what they’re able to do with current consoles, and with 3D images essentially needing twice as many frames as 2D games, you gotta wonder how Naughty Dog is able to make due on this one.

While my Sharp Shooter review is delayed due to Resistance 3′s Move issues, what I can talk to you about is how Resistance 3 looks in 3D. So hit the break for this mixed bag review of 3D goodness. Continue reading

Motorstorm Apocalypse has been one of the Ps3′s flagship 3D games, in much the same way the original Motorstorm was a beautiful early show case of what the Ps3 was graphically capable of.
So does 3D make this game? Is it a gimmick? read on to find out. Continue reading

Thanks to the “Welcome Back” package I’m now the (mostly) proud owner of Wipeout HD, and the Fury expansion. I can’t give this game a normal review because…well it severely lacks adult content, but what I can do is rate the 3D effect in the game, while giving a brief opinion on the actual game. Socom 4 is in 3D, and I’m here to tell ya all about it. While playing Socom 4 in 2d I kept on wondering to myself “Are these graphics good, great or just decent?” see at times the world looks beautiful, and the characters look very detailed, but then in a moment you’ll notice an overall graphical detail that isn’t up to par with games like Killzone 3, and Uncharted 2. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing because I did just mention arguably the two best looking console games. Continue reading

Welcome to our first ever 3d review! As I explained in a previous post we’re going to be reviewing the 3d quality of games now regardless of ESRB rating/content. We’re doing this essentially because no one else is fucking stepping up (with the exception of a site or two that still don’t cover everything)
Why am I reviewing Super Stardust HD first? Especially when I could be reviewing more mature titles like Socom 4, or Killzone 3? Because we’re putting our best foot forward here, Super Stardust HD is unimaginably good in 3d. Continue reading
