Max Payne 3 Gets Free “Gorilla Warfare Pack” DLC

Free DLC is always such a great good will gesture on behalf of developers towards their legions of fans, and it often helps push gamers into eventually buying the inevitable paid DLC.

Such is the case with Max Payne 3, as Rockstar has released the “Gorilla Warfare Pack” on PSN, and XBL for free. The pack contains 3 multiplayer items:

  • Gorilla Mask: Gives you a boost of extra adrenaline for melee kills from behind.
  • Lucky Coin: Gives you extra cash when looting bodies.
  • Booby Trap: Makes your corpse explode if another player tries to loot it.

The Gorilla Warfare pack is available now, for the Ps3, Xbox 360, and will be made available upon arrival of Max Payne’s PC release on May 29th

Call Of Duty: Police Warfare?!

The Call Of Duty franchise has long been accused of being stale, and trying nothing new with each annual release. But imagine if the series put you in the shoes of police, or robbers during bank heists, and other crime fighting situations.

This fan made faux Call Of Duty game pitch is extremely exciting, it looks like the gun toting offspring of Modern Warfare 3, and the exceptional PAYDAY: The Heist.

So let’s all hope Activision’s as excited about this pitch as a lot of us are, and this criminally clever concept could become a reality.

Saints Row 3 Ups The Crazy: Welcome To Genki Bowl VII

Gotta love witnessing a Shark eat a furry

Saints Row The Third has long prided itself on being completely over the top stupid fun. Expansive DLC is in many cases the more ‘exciting’ or marketable aspect of a title being built upon. But what happens when you’re trying to out-do a game as fucked up as Saints Row The Third? Enter Genki Bowl VII:

“Sail through the skies with Sad Panda Skyblazing. Fight through dark, shark-infested jungles in Angry Tiger’s Apocalypse Genki. And crush your way to victory in Sexy Kitten Yarngasm. But don’t forget to help Professor Genki maintain his excitement before any public appearances in Super Ethical PR Opportunity.”

I have no clue what the hell is going on in either the video above, or even the description I just quoted. All I know is I want it. And we wont have to wait long either, Genkibowl VII will be available Tuesday January 27th for $7 (or 560 MS Points) on the Ps3, and Xbox 360.

Resistance 3 Brutality Pack Drinking Game

A Sledge Hammer & Heavy Metal, Now That’s A Drinking Game

On December 6th 2011, Insomniac Games, released the Brutality Pack for Resistance 3. I love Resistance 3, the campaign was awesome but too short. The multiplayer is fun, but is definitely lacking in online players. When I saw this DLC  I thought, “What A nice rip off of Horde Mode from Gears Of War, or Firefight from Halo ODST.” But for $3.99 I just couldn’t resist.

After installing the DLC and booting it up you will surely see this is a poor version of other Horde modes. Games like Gears Of War and Halo have both done this before and much better. The Brutality Pack pits you and a partner against waves of  creatures from Resistance 3. While first playing with my friend we both looked at each other and said “What The Fuck Is This Crap?” and laughed. Then a couple of beers later we had an idea. An awful idea. We had a wonderful awful idea, Resistance 3 Brutality Pack Drinking Games.     Continue Reading To Find Out More……..

EA Changes Mind: Free Battlefield 1943 For Ps3 Battlefield 3 Owners

We have lift off

Back at E3 EA announced that Ps3 copies of Battlefield 3 would be shipping with a copy of the downloadable title Battlefield 1943. Without warning Battlefield 3 shipped recently without Battlefield 1943. “The fuck?!” the world asked, EA shrewdly responded via its Twitter account “u get map pakz a week early, no 1943 for u” (may have been worded slightly differently)

So what happens? unfiltered furious gamer outrage! Which is refreshing because usually gamers are pissing themselves off over nothing, so it’s healthy to occasionally have something legitimate to raise a shit storm over.

And as you’d expect anger led to a lawsuit, and now EA is chocking the whole ordeal up as a ‘misunderstanding’:

“there have been some misunderstandings around Battlefield 1943 and Battlefield 3, to address this we are making Battlefield 1943 available free of charge to owners of Battlefield 3 on the PS3 beginning this month”

How sweepingly generous of them to keep their original promise, luckily they’re helping us all through our silly little misunderstanding by giving us a free game totally out of nowhere….pricks.

Watch An Old Lady Die – The Graveyard For Android

The fuck?!

These days games aren’t happy just being enjoyable experiences, they also want to be ‘art’ as well. I’m not opposed to this, I love certain artistic games like Heavy Rain. But sometimes it appears as if a title is attempting to make itself out to be a new artistic kind of game, when it would be more appropriate as a shitty artistic video, this is the case with ‘The Graveyard’

In ‘The Graveyard’ you control an old lady, walking her down a Graveyard, until you get to a bench, where she sits, and dies, that is the game. It attempts to be thought provoking, and sad by showing a young man for instance packing up what’s presumably the old lady’s room, but it misses the mark. Honestly the concept isn’t totally terrible, and the graveyard visuals are definitely unique and had it been simply a free short video trying to make a fast sad statement it would of been more respectable, but no this is a game that gains absolutely no significance  or worth through being a game.

“a pretentious, ineffective waste of the interactive medium” -Destructoid

Well sure if you want to dumb down my past 2 paragraph into a coherent properly articulated sentence fine.

Watch the video above to see the the old lady die (video shows the whole game, which wont take too much of your time) or download the trial version (in which the old lady can’t die) but if you’re completely set on seeing the old lady die in the palms of your hands (totally understandable) you can buy the full version here.

Resistance 3 Update Brings 2 Free Maps Today

Ready for an excuse to blast some more Chimera?

Resistance 3 is being patched to version 1.05 today, and with it comes 2 free maps: ‘The Creek’ a 16 player map, and ‘The Granery’ a 4 player map. That’s not the only thing being patched though, here’s a couple key highlights for ya:

- Several performance updates to fix network lag
- Improved team balancing
- All equipment and abilities are now purchasable at level 60
- Leaper Corpse will now spawn fewer leapers
- Improved the Move’s aim mechanic

As I mentioned in my Resistance 3 Sharp Shooter review, the Move support now works quite well (after finally being patched from a near broken state) but it’s aesthetically sorta sloppy, that could be what’s being addressed.

Jump the break for the full hefty patch notes.
