Dragon’s Dogma Launch Trailer

Capcoms take on Skyrim is almost here

I’m not sure whether Capcom’s trying to be a rebel, or a Rockstar, but someone needs to tell these guys their game isn’t out yet. Either way, it looks promising, it reminds me of a third person only Skyrim with far tighter gameplay, and a bigger emphasis on combat, early reviews seem to be positive too, with GameInformer leading the charge with a score of 85%

Additional items of note that you actually already know (if you watched the trailer) purchasing Dragon’s Dogma grants you early access to the Resident Evil 6 demo, and speaking of demos Dragon’s Dogma’s demo is already up on PSN, and XBL to help you better judge whether to pick up Capcoms open world fantasy when it releases on Ps3, and Xbox 360 May 22nd.

Get Prototype 2 For $39.99, Darkness II For $29.99 Today

Prototype 2, and the Darkness II are both games that may have fallen off of many of your radars. The consensus is they’re both good games (both Prototype 2, and The Darkness II have aggregated scores of 80 on metacritic) but with big name titles like: Final Fantasy, Kingdoms of Amalur, Resident Evil, Uncharted, Tekken, Twisted Metal, UFC, Metal Gear, Mass Effect 3, Mario Party, Street Fighter X Tekken, Silent Hill, Ninja Gaiden, Resident Evil (again), Kid Icarus, Kinect Star Warslol, The Witcher 2, and Starhawk already releasing this year; sometimes it’s difficult to get around to titles many would consider more ‘low-key’

Well lucky for us Amazon has Prototype 2, and The Darkness II on sale today for $39.99, and $29.99 respectively, which really are great deals considering how relatively new, and high quality both of these titles are. (Same deals are also available on Amazon.ca)

What title has your attention? I’m a fan of the human bowling in Prototype 2, but if I do end up jumping on one of these deals, it’s going to be The Darkness II, since that ‘Assecution trailer‘ still brings a smile to my face every time I’m reminded of The Darkness II’s existence (now that’s good marketing)

Max Payne 3′s Premature Launch Trailer

Depression, explosions, full head of hair, blood, gunshots, drugs, emotional obstacles, bald, alcohol, uncertainty, beautiful graphics, regrown hair, rough cops, slow-mo bullet time, flash baldness, deep character narration, love, woman screaming.

There you go, I just summed up…I dunno 73.8% of Max Payne 3′s ‘launch’ trailer, and by launch trailer I mean, why the hell did you release your launch trailer 5 days before Max Payne 3′s actual release Rockstar? SEMANTICS ARE SERIOUS BUSINESS R*! But seriously this trailer is great, very visually pleasing, interesting, and it’s simply a good way to market what’s bound to be another AAA Rockstar production (that’s right, I can be a nice guy too)

Here’s Rockstars official description for Max Payne 3′s launch trailer:

“For Max Payne, the tragedies that took his loved ones years ago are wounds that refuse to heal. No longer a cop, close to washed up and addicted to pain killers, Max takes a job in São Paulo, Brazil, protecting the family of wealthy real estate mogul Rodrigo Branco, in an effort to finally escape his troubled past. But as events spiral out of his control, Max Payne finds himself alone on the streets of an unfamiliar city, desperately searching for the truth and fighting for a way out.”

Max Payne 3 is hitting the Ps3, and Xbox 360 May 15th.

Assassins Creed 3′s First Gameplay Trailer

Well thanks to all the Twitheads, Facebookers, and other social media freaks who spread the word, the Assassins Creed 3 gameplay trailer is now unlocked, and quite honestly, it looks great.

Though Ubisoft advertised your efforts would go towards unlocking “gameplay footage” this really is more or less a standard 2 minute trailer, which is probably a good thing; sure it has gameplay, but it also has stunning CGI, plot detail, and Assassins Creed 3′s protagonist Connor narrating the whole thing.

I’m in all honesty biased against the Assassins Creed franchise, but despite that this is an incredible trailer, and Assassins Creed 3 looks like it’s going to be huge later this year. Don’t be surprised if it becomes Ubisofts all time best selling game, especially with the effective (yet slightly irritating) pre-order incentives laid out at the end.

Bullet To Balls: Cringe Worthy Sniper Elite V2 Exploding Sack Shots

Words cannot portray the amount of sympathy I have for these poor digital sub-male Nazi’s

You may have seen ‘Sniper Elite V2′ posted on Fucked Up Games in the past, and for good reason; the slow-mo partial x-ray sniper shots are a beautiful symphony of carnage, and gore.

This montage takes things to a whole new level of pain, by focusing squarely on the Nazi soldiers nuts (and yes the testicles are shown via x-ray….until they explode that is) Anyone else think the computer has an auto-assist to increase the number of ball-busting shots? If so I’m gonna have to blame any, and all female programmers over at Rebellion Developments…..conniving harpies.

Dishonored Hitting Stores October 9th

Bethesda’s off the walls first person sci-fi steampunk assassin game, Dishonored, is going to be available October 9th, so if you’re already convinced you need Dishonored in your life after the gameplay free debut trailer, you can now pre-order it, an action (which by the way) either classifies you as an idiot, or (understandably) optimistic.

But whether you’re indifferent to, or just plain excited for Dishonored, clicking past the break for 25 screens will be to your benefit one way or another.

Starhawk Is Out – Launch Trailer+Free Map Packs

Starhawk may be rated ‘T’ but I’m giving it a pass for introducing us to more cross-firing chaos than you can shake an unfortunately excluded bloody stump at…also free DLC doesn’t hurt

Starhawk is here, and if you’ve gotta Ps3, and enjoy third person shooters (with huge focuses on online) then you definitely have something to be excited for when it comes to Starhawk. If you’re a single player kind of gamer, you might want to do some research first before plunging into this purchase though, as many reviewers are calling Starhawks single player mode “bland” or “a cleverly disguised tutorial”

What’s really exciting about Starhawk (other than the crazy action featured in the video above) is the promise that all of Starhawks map packs will be 100% free, in order to avoid ‘fracturing’ the online community (which makes Lightbox Interactive seemingly the only developer who cares about that sort of thing now a days)

So if you’re interested in Starhawks first free map pack, then continue reading for a brief look at the ‘Abandoned Rift Research Facility’

“Family Guy Back To The Multiverse” Coming This Fall

I’m sure many of you have no doubt seen the episode of Family Guy, where Stewie, and Brian jump through different parallel dimensions, now Activision has confirmed they’re making a game based on the episode.

Back To The Multiverse will thankfully make use of Family Guys voice actors, and writers for what’s promised by Activision to be a hilarious uncensored good time. What I find brilliant about the concept, is in addition to leveraging a popular Family Guy episode, ‘Back To The Multiverse’ gives both the developers, and writers a ton of freedom, since literally any: situation, gameplay element, joke, or plot point can be worked into a game where the basis is “visiting different universes”

Not much is known beyond ‘Family Guy: Back To The Multiverse’ right now, but continue reading for the press release.

Market Assassins Creed 3 For Ubisoft – Unlock Gameplay Footage

In an admittedly effective albeit somewhat irritating leverage of the 2 major players in social media (Facebook, and Twitter) Ubisoft tasks you with sharing Assassins Creed 3 with everyone possible, in order to unlock Assassins Creed 3′s first gameplay footage. You can help out, or ‘unite’ to unlock the digitally sealed trailer by visiting Assassins Creed 3/Unite, where you’re also able to check out a meter that displays how close the world is to unlocking the new Assassins Creed 3 trailer.

The gameplay footage will presumably follow immediately after the short, surprisingly satisfying teaser trailer above. Don’tcha hate it when you’re strolling along, then suddenly you’ve got an arrow in the knee leg, and you’ve gotta get away from a stalking master Assassin? hate those days.
