This excellent fan-made Left 4 Dead movie trailer gives you everything you’d want in a Left 4 Dead film (or a zombie film in general) As I remarked above since this is made by fans who don’t have the movie rights to Left 4 Dead, it’s going to be released for free.
Definitely check out the trailer above whether you’re interested in Left 4 Dead or not, I haven’t played a single one of those games, but I’m always open to a good zombie or generally violent film, and this Left 4 Dead film has my interest piqued.
Straight up, I’m not a Halo fan, nothing personal (besides my only experience with it being killed at a friends house) I just haven’t experienced it enough to judge it one way or another. That being said, this new fan created Halo web series looks intense, mix in war drama, lots of action, and Halo’s own brand of sci-fi; serve it in a gritty realistic environment, and you’ve got Halo Helljumper.
“Halo Helljumper is a short series of films that follows the life of one human ODST from his enlistment in the UNSC before the Human-Covenant War to around the Fall of Reach. Unlike a lot of soldiers, he was lucky enough to survive through 27 years of a losing battle against a hostile alien civilization, known as the Covenant. Through his experiences, we’re going to expose you to an amazing universe full of devastation, grief, affection, and most importantly, hope.”
Good stuff, Hollywood can take it’s mindless action films, and go blow a goat; we’ll watch free fan created films that actually attempt to tell a an emotional story. Though I probably should wait till at least an episode of this comes out before proceeding to shit all over the multi-billion dollar film industry in favor of a web-series with a pretty trailer.
Last month G4TV presented us with quite the Halloween treat, ‘Epictoberfest’ an event that spawned 3 free video game inspired short horror films. There was a Mario inspired crazy as shit film called “Kart Driver” a John Hitchcock like Angry Birds film called “The Birds Of Anger” but the whole event opened to easily the best of the three: ‘The Hunt’ a Duck Hunt inspired film that blended real life, and the classic duck shooting game, in a: clever, dark, grin producing fashion.
Now if you watched Rainfall Films ‘The Hunt’ (and if you didn’t you’re keeping yourself from something special) then you probably have questions as I did. Luckily for me the director Sam Balcomb agreed to an interview, where I could harass him with questions to my hearts content.

‘The Birds Of Anger’ closes up G4TV’s ‘Epictoberfest’ with a bang…because it features birds dive bombing a home.
I’m told the video has a very Alfred Hitchcock ‘The Birds’ feel to it, but I haven’t seen that movie so I’m sorta the worst person to be offering this video up to you guys so in conclusion: birds are pissed, dive bombing is inevitable, two bitches get in a fight over a man, and the lesson of the day is keep a shotgun handy; it’s the magical solution to all of lifes problems.
If you don’t care for ‘The Birds Of Anger’ then check out the brilliant Duck Hunt inspired ‘The Hunt‘ or the batshit insane Mario inspired ‘Kart Driver‘
If Miyamoto was on shrooms when he invented Mario, then Drew Daywalt was hitting Salvia when he pioneered Kart Driver.
This is just plain fucked up, *looks at website banner*….obviously that’s not a bad thing, but in any case expect a major shift in style from the dark, subtle qualities found in Duck Hunt inspired ‘The Hunt‘ because Kart Driver is totally off the walls insane. It’s as if someone threw mushroom kingdom, a guy who tries to explain a bad joke, the ‘Grand Theft Auto’ series, a rapist, and a whole lot of hard drugs in a blender, and served it to an elementary school.

G4TV‘s ‘epictoberfest’ is off to a great start with ‘The Hunt’ the Duck Hunt inspired short horror film clocks in at about 10 minutes, but trust me it’s worth your time. One of the nagging preconceived notions I’ve had in my head about these shorts, is that they seem to have nearly nothing to do with the games they’re modeled after, fortunately this is a short film gamers can truly call, and recognize as a horror movie adaptation of Duck Hunt.
Unfortunately G4TV’s video player doesn’t seem to work on my browser, but I was able to find an unlisted Youtube video of it, which I’ve embedded above. Definitely give ‘The Hunt’ on G4′s site a click anyway, we need to show our support for great free internet content such as this.
Last week I reported that Sony Pictures was on the verge of inking a deal with Ubisoft for the motion picture rights of the highly valuable Assassins Creed IP.
As mentioned previously the development of the movie will be closely monitored by Ubisoft Motion Pictures, a division of Ubisoft created to whore out Ubisofts IP’s to movie studios while making sure film makers stay true to the games, in the fear of having multi-million dollar franchises like Assassins Creed become tainted by shitty movie adaptations.
This is going to be the last post I do on these short horror films that doesn’t include a link to watch one of them because tomorrow is the premiere of “The Hunt” the Duck Hunt inspired horror film. To make it easier on both of us take a look at the schedule here:
